this sculptural butterfly reclamation is a unique experiment from the BRZA DOLL studio; the MDF form has undergone repurposing - a metamorphosis- if you will!
it has been layered with house paint and acrylic paint, finished with a fluorescent glow- paint washed and mounted to a reclaimed 50+yo floorboard from the artists’ ongoing home restoration. it marks the beginning of a deep dive into themes of aesthetics and artistic expression in the home, historical and restorative practices and recognition of domestic crafts as fine art
